Verses From A Deeply Darkened Mind, by Mary Genevieve Fortier, is now out in Kindle version as well as paperback. Get your copy now!

Verses From A Deeply Darkened Mind, by Mary Genevieve Fortier, is a masterpiece of haunting poetry. I was fortunate enough to read a pre-published copy. Hence, my name in the editorial reviews. My honest opinion of this tome? This collection of poetry is the best I have read this year in the horror genre. Any other genre for that matter. In fact, in my opinion, no poet alive can touch her mastery of the craft.

Buy a copy of this superb collection. You will be glad you did.

Book description:

VERSES FROM A DEEPLY, DARKENED MIND Yes, “Deeply Darkened.” These are the words which reside within the depths of a mind haunted. A haunting, of neither the ethereal persuasion, nor the ghosts of a hidden and unrelenting past. Here before you, etched upon parchment, are verse written from a mind haunted by “words.” This tome is unlike your typical, modern day collection of “Horror Poetry.” It is rather an assemblage of “Horror Stories” written in poetic form. Written to tease that final nerve, before the fatal break. Ah, yes. Here, this “DEEPLY, DARKENED MIND,” who with pen in hand (black ink a must), has taken meter and rhyme to send a heartbeat racing in terror from one page to the next. “DEEPLY DARKENED,” is my mind, my world; and I offer you entrance. That’s right… Turn my page… Crack my spine… I want you to cringe, squirm, look over your shoulder into the shadows and dare you to shut out the lights once this cover has been closed. This “DEEPLY, DARKENED MIND,” bids you “welcome.” Yes, join me… in my darkness… Mary Genevieve Fortier

Editorial Reviews

"Very moving and atmospheric... I could almost feel a cold breath on the back of my neck!"Graham Masterton.

"It is no wonder that Mary Genevieve Fortier has been called 'The Modern Day Poe.' She is that good." Blaze McRob

About the Author

MARY GENEVIEVE FORTIER Imagine and Dream… two words that best describe the mind of this poet. An avid lover of the written word, Mary has penned many poems of various genres since the age of seven, and first published at the age of nine. Mary grew up reading, watching, loving anything horror: her dark-side so to speak. Classic authors, whose pens have etched greatness in works that not only create shivers down the spine but inspire movement of the soul — Such remarkable writers as Poe, Shakespeare, Browning, Gibran, just to name a few, gave Mary that special element that drives every poet to place their essence upon parchment. This became the ethereal foundation of her poetic form. Writing as such gave way to countless poems/prose and other works, many of which found publication in anthologies. Today, she has not merely found a new voice, rather, she’s added an intrinsic octave to her repertoire: the genre of Horror, both poetic and fiction. Mary’s poetry has been described as mystical, melodic, flowing with a unique grace that at times has been likened to the old world poets. Her horror poetry has been described as “Poe-esque.” Her peers deem her “The Modern Day Poe.”
Format: Paperback
Even with the lights on - this will scare the hell out of you!

A must have for anyone that loves a frightening good time - definitely gives Poe a reason to look over his literary shoulder!

My wife, Terri DelCampo, was telling me the other day that instead of telling the world about a certain author's book, especially if they have a lot that are published, that I should share their Amazon Author Page and let that show all their titles. Great idea! Since Armand Rosamilia has 150 titles floating around, I figured I'd start with him. His books are great. I bought many of them and am in a number of collections and anthologies with him. Check him out. You'll be sure to find many tales of his that you'll enjoy.

Ugly Little Things: Collected Horrors, by Todd Keisling, is a fantastic collection of horror shorts! Todd has rather unique spins to his stories, with twists and turns you won't find from many other authors. Check out the free sample on Amazon and you'll see what I mean.

Book description:

The eleven stories in Ugly Little Things explore the depths of human suffering and ugliness, charting a course to the dark, horrific heart of the human condition. The terrors of everyday existence are laid bare in this eerie collection of short fiction from the twisted mind of Todd Keisling, author of the critically-acclaimed novels A Life Transparent and The Liminal Man.
Travel between the highways of America in “The Otherland Express,” where a tribe of the forsaken and forlorn meet to exchange identities. Witness the cold vacuum of space manifest in the flesh in “The Darkness Between Dead Stars.” Step into the scrub of rural Arizona and join Karen Singleton’s struggle to save her husband from a cult of religious fanatics in “When Karen Met Her Mountain.” Visit the small town of Dalton in “The Harbinger” and join Felix Proust as he uncovers the vile secrets rooted at the heart of Dalton Dollworks. And in the critically-acclaimed novella “The Final Reconciliation,” learn the horrifying truth behind the demise of the rock band The Yellow Kings.
With an introduction by Bram Stoker Award-winner Mercedes M. Yardley and illustrations by Luke Spooner, Ugly Little Things will be your atlas, guiding you along a lonely road of sorrow, loss, and regret. This is going to hurt—and you’re going to like it.
Proudly represented by Crystal Lake Publishing - Tales from the Darkest Depths.

Interview with the Author:
What makes this collection of horror stories so special?
Todd Keisling: These stories represent some of the darkest fiction I’ve ever written. I was in a bad place when I wrote most of them, and I put my thoughts to paper with the intention of sharing my dread with potential readers. These stories will cut deeply. They’ll make you weep and they’ll make you bleed.
Tell us more about the theme you were going for in this horror collection?
Todd Keisling: There’s a story in the collection, “The Harbinger,” which is about a doll maker who infuses her creations with the pain of her victims. The title “Ugly Little Things” comes from that story, as each tale in the collection is intended to be one of those dolls, each filled to the brim with the darker qualities of the human condition.

Romantic Shadows, by Terri DelCampo and Blaze McRob, was published on our wedding anniversary last year by Blazing Owl Press. We eased up a bit on our usual horror fare and wrote some romance themed short stories and poems. Yes, there are certainly elements of horror contained within, but that is not all we present in this tome. Lovers are reunited in magical ways, the Dance Of Love soothes  yearning hearts, and much more.

Stage 3, by Ken Stark, is an action-packed apocalyptic novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. You won't want to miss this gem. This is not your mother's Zombie tale. It is sooo much more. I guarantee you will love it!

Blaze McRob

Book description:

Blindness was just the beginning. Once the virus stripped away everything remotely human, all that was left was a mindless savage. A predator. A monster.

Hank Mason thought that he had nothing left to lose, but now he is all that stands between a young girl and a gruesome fate, and he's sworn to protect her with his very life. But the virus isn't done yet. A new, deadlier terror is slowly emerging, and even as Mason and Mackenzie battle their way from one horror to the next in a desperate flight through a world gone mad, they both know that their time is running out.

The girl is already blind, and things are about to get a whole lot worse.

Editorial Reviews

The whole book feels new and different from others like it. Yes, we have a virus that turns folks into monsters, but that's where the similarities end.
The author weaves suspense, action, and character development into a horrific tale of survival and friendship. The book has a steady pace that keeps you turning pages without wearing you out.

STAGE 3 is one of the scariest books I have read in a while. Once you get to the back half of the novel, it is pretty much a barrage of action. The suspense here is devastatingly effective and only scratches the surface of the blood-soaked brutality that plays out in this chaos of this world.

There are numerous comparisons between "Stage 3" and other zombie apocalypse tales, but it's the dissimilarities of other zombie tales that put Ken Stark at the top of the zombie author charts. Stark is a master wordsmith. His insight into character development, realistic dialogue and the right amount and timing of twists that keep the reader reading are second to none. I highly recommend "Stage 3" to zombie and horror fans, but also those who enjoy a human story embedded in an action-packed apocalyptic tale.

From the Author

I've always considered myself a writer, but as much as I would loved an early success, I'm grateful that fate intervened. Now, 25 years of life-experience later, here I am again; well-seasoned, heavily-jaded, and ready to drag you down the rabbit hole with me.......

I'm honored to have a short story in For The Night Is Dark. I believe my story, Eternal Darkness, is one of my best. Joe Mynhardt at Crystal Lake Publishing did a great job compiling this fantastic collection.

I have no idea how long this will last, but the Kindle version of this tome is only .99. The paperback is priced to sell as well, only being $12.99 for a 425 page book.

This book with stories from twenty great authors would make a fantastic gift for the horror readers on your shopping list.

Hold on to your weapon of choice, and pull those covers up tight! The fine folks over at Crystal Lake Publishing have unleashed a dark anthology that is sure to scare you. Chocked full of talented authors and unique tales, FOR THE NIGHT IS DARK is a horror collection that any fan of frightful fiction must own.

I have to confess that I had never heard of Crystal Lake Publishing prior to getting their e-mail. But I'm sure glad they reached out to me. If this anthology is any indication of the talent levels they publish, I'm definitely going to keep my eyes out for the other titles they release.

FOR THE NIGHT IS DARK is a fantastic mix of horror in a variety of sub-genres. Ghosts, monsters, things of an unknown origin...there's plenty of terrifying aspects here, and something for every horror fan.

Each story is written well, and each has its own, distinctive voice. Yet they all strive for the same goal: to scare the crap out of you. I admit freely that I enjoyed every story in this collection, which is not a common occurrence for me when it comes to anthologies. Sometimes, only a handful of stories stick out...but here, they all do.

One of my favorite tales in FOR THE NIGHT IS DARK is "Mr. Stix" by Mark West. In this story, a simple, crudely made puppet turns one family's existence into a nightmare. But all is not what it seems...

Another favorite is "Eternal Darkness" by Blaze McRob. This vivid tale describes a man's fight with his worst fear: the darkness. But the shadows in this pitch are not tricks of light...they are something far more sinister.

FOR THE NIGHT IS DARK is an excellent anthology, and I highly recommend giving it a look. Every fan of horror fiction must own a copy, so get yours today. The book is available now in a variety of formats.
