W. J. Howard is my Woman In Horror today! W. J. wanted to tell you in her own words what she's up to and give you some personal history. Here she is:

"W. J. (Wendy) Howard writes dark stories mixed with comedy for all ages. Her main focus is creating fast-paced, action-packed stories that read like video games. Wendy appreciates unconventional methods of publishing and released the first in The Courier series, Call for Obstruction, by tweeting it on Twitter. It’s now available on Amazon via the link below. Warrant for Damnation, the second in the series, is currently releasing weekly on Wattpad. She's also releasing a short prequel to the series on Valentine's Day on her website as a part of The Bloody Valentine Horror Event hosted by A. F. Stewart at

Wendy has loved horror since the age of four, when her grandmother let her watch the movie, The Crawling Hand. She was instantly addicted and watched every movie she could on Creature Features and Svengoolie on Chicago TV while she was growing up. Writing horror came natural, especially of the short variety.

After a few years in Catholic school and a nun who wielded a thick ruler, she grew into an obsession with good vs evil. She studies world religions and philosophy for the fun of it and her work is greatly influenced by these things. Coming soon, she’s starting a new series of blog posts on evil in pop culture. The first post will be February 23rd and the topic is Evil Women in Pop Culture.

Wendy enjoys working with other writers, especially planning group events to help promote authors. She’s hosting WiHM Blog talks this month from February 20th to 24th. Check out her website if you’d like to get involved. She also arranged a Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Getting to Know You blog post that she’s a part of at if you’re looking to find a few new fabulous horror authors to read.

DRAWING: In honor of Valentine's Day and WiHM, drop by Wendy’s Facebook page and Like it to enter to win a $10 Amazon gift card. You can also drop by her website and comment on any of her blog posts until March to enter to win.

Check out all of Wendy's great links. She's waiting for you to drop by. You'll find me there a lot. I know the cool people who care about the craft, and Wendy Howard is certainly one of them.
