D J Weaver is my Woman In Horror today! D J and her co-author, CK Webb, write fascinating horror and suspense. Their tales are in your face, real life type, action pounding stories. Though they are fiction, there is truth in the words. Things they write about could very well happen and hence the mantle of, "is this real, or imagined?" Gotta love that!

D J is a buzzing ball of energy! Not only does she write, but she conducts interviews and runs a radio show with CK Webb. Their show was a Top Ten Finisher for Best Promotional Firm, Site, or Resource in the Preditors & Editors Reader's Poll for 2014. This is not the first time the show has reached great status either.

Take a look at all the websites that D J is on! Visit them and find out more about her.

Here are book descriptions and super reviews for the first two novels in the Abduction Series:

Cruelty to Innocents (911 Abduction Series )

Book Description

May 25, 2011
What if you were in your car alone with your small child and you came upon an emergency scene? Would you stop to help? What if, while you are trying to assist a victim of an accident or mugging, you left your young child alone in the car, thinking he or she would be safe. What if, instead of help, the call to 911 brought a terrifying, sinister result?

Someone’s abducting children from 911 emergency scenes in Aberdeen Maryland, while their parents call for help and lend aid to accident victims. Someone who’s also listening in, is a monster and vicious child abductor. In the midst of the chaos and confusion of the scene, that monster slips in and steals the innocent children leaving behind no trace for authorities.

Sloanne Kelly is unprepared for what awaits in her hometown as she travels back to Maryland. Her goddaughter is one of the victims and the clock is ticking. Together with her best friend and a local fireman, Shawn Tyler, Sloanne will face the most insidious of criminals and fight to recover the children before there is anymore, Cruelty to Innocents.

Editorial Reviews:
“A kidnapped child is every parent’s worst nightmare—but imagine how you’d feel if your daughter were snatched away while you were distracted trying to save someone else’s life. Set in the sort of town where we all take safety for granted, The 911 Abductions is a heart wrenching, emotional roller coaster readers won’t soon forget.”
–Tasha Alexander, Bestselling Author of “Dangerous to Know”

“A girl goes missing…and time is running out in this explosive debut novel by CK Webb and DJ Weaver. “Cruelty to Innocents” is a riveting thriller that ratchets up the adrenaline and forces you to turn the pages faster and faster as you hope for the best, while fearing the worst. This is a poignant, big-hearted novel that finds good in the midst of evil, hope in the midst of despair. Cruelty will touch your heart and give you plenty to think about after the last page has been turned.”
–John Locke, Bestselling Author of “Saving Rachel”

They write so vividly that once you start reading you can' let go. I'm going to start reading the next book very soon and any book thereafter by these authors.
It's not only suspenful, they bring out the atrocities going on in life and shows
what is being done to make us aware of, perhaps, what we can do to help.

This has just been one of the most action pack,  thrilling, on edge novels I have read in awhile. I would of given it a ten if I could. I belong to a book club and will more def pass this on to the group. I loved to way the story moved at just the right pace. The ending I figured wrong and was pleasantly surprise.  Well done and looking forward to reading more from these authors.

This great book is only .99, a great price so the tale can introduce itself to you. There are two in the series now, and a third one is on the way. Suspense, action, and thrills all along the way!

Here is a book description and review for Collecting Innocents:

Book Description

PRAISE:
“A harrowing, edge of your seat thriller, the frightening premise sucks you in, while the twists and turns will keep you guessing to the last breathtaking word.”
–Richard Doetsch, bestselling author of “Half-Past Dawn”

“Wow! This book grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go till the very last word of the last page. A terrific read by two authors who know their way around a story.”
–Shane Gericke, bestselling author of “Torn Apart”

Highway travel can be lonely and treacherous. Broken down vehicles litter the Emergency Lane like corpses on a battlefield. What if you were alone with no one to call when you found yourself stranded? Your only companion; your small child sleeping in the back seat. What would you do?

On I-10 in Louisiana the answer is simple… you use the Emergency Call Box. cBut while you sigh a breath of relief in the knowledge that help is on its way, a much more sinister listener has heard your 911 call.

Calls for help are coming in from Emergency Call Boxes along I-10 in Louisiana. But, when the State Trooper or wrecker service arrives to assist, there is no sign of the vehicle. Days later, the driver is found savagely murdered with no trace of their tiny passenger in sight.

When a police officer, formerly of the Aberdeen Police Department sees a twisted pattern of murder and child abduction arising from 911 calls, he contacts Sloanne Kelly, now known for her work with child abduction cases. Together, Sloanne, Shawn Tyler and Mac Mackenzie, with the help of reporter Birney Sullivan, go on the hunt for a killer and the innocent children he is collecting.

Once again, Webb and Weaver have shown their skill and prowess at developing a suspenseful and thrilling novel. This mother/daughter duo have managed to captivate their readers by thickening the plot when necessary with many twists and turns in order to keep them on their toes. I was riveted to the page as I read Collecting Innocents and you will be too. It drew me back over and over again as I was eager to discover the threads from the past and how they would link up to the present crime. Webb and Weaver have skillfully woven a web of suspense, fear and mystery. Collecting Innocents is a must read!

This second suspense novel in the 911 abductions series is a real thriller. It is a follow-up to Cruelty to Innocents where the stage was set with a series of mysterious disappearances of young children. These previous abductions always took place at the scene of an emergency situation in Aberdeen, Maryland when their caregivers were preoccupied with helping others. Due to this crisis, an emergency agency was formed by Sloanne Kelly and her fiance Shawn Tyler called Saving Angels Agency after the abduction and murder of Sloanne's best friend's daughter.

Collecting Innocents is a continuation of this same plot. This time; however, not only children but also their parents and automobiles, are strangely disappearing after emergency calls from 911 Call Boxes on a stretch of highway between Florida and California on Interstate 10. These highway crimes take place in the short distance between Slidell Louisiana and Vidor Texas.

The novel starts off with the mysterious disappearance of Tammy Pruett and her young daughter, Moira. There have also been two other similar abductions but no one seems to see the connection in these crimes with the exception of Lieutenant Jake Mackenzie, better known as Mac to his friends. Mac is a former employee of the Maryland, Aberdeen Police Department and well aware of the abductions that took place there just over two years ago. He has the uneasy feeling that some how or other these new crimes are connected to the past and what took place. They are hauntingly familiar and he cannot put his uneasiness to rest. Unable to convince the Sheriff and other police departments of his suspicions, he reaches out for aid from Shawn and Sloanne and their capable staff at Saving Angels Agency. The gruesome details of the cases unfold in such away that fear is instilled in everyone involved. Shawn and Sloanne once again have the opportunity to put their experienced investigative team to work. Along with the capable help of Birney Sullivan, the former news reporter from Maryland, Aberdeen, these three experts work together to help solve the case.
