Twisted Reflections is Shay West's latest time travel tale. I love time travel stories, so even though this is geared to teens, it matters not to me.

Shay West is another of my great Women In Horror with a new release. Read and enjoy!

Alexis Davenport is learning to come to grips with her ability to travel through time, but she still hasn’t been able to stop the evil Drifter and his Master from trying to alter the past.

When she travels back to ancient Egypt, Alex gets a most unexpected surprise; she meets someone who can help her figure out how to use her powers, another Traveler like herself.

But can Alex learn how to control her gift before Drifter finds a way to stop her from meddling in his Master’s plans?

5.0 out of 5 stars Twisted Reflections: Adventures of Alexis Davenport, Book 2, April 6, 2012
Alexis is a girl we can believe in. She is smart, sassy, talented and full of spirit. She also travels through time. Just a small little talent that can get her into and out of trouble.

Alexis has faced many challenges in the past year. Her parent's have divorced, she has moved to a new location and a new school. Living in her aunts guest house she feels like she doesn't have a place to call her own. To make matters worse her father hasn't contacted her since the divorce a year ago. She is hurt but trying to make the most out of her new situation.

Things are starting to look up for Alexis. Her mother has found a nice house to rent where she has a large bedroom and her own bathroom. She is doing well in school and it is now summer break. Her audition for a role in the summer production of "Wicked" has gone well and she has new and exciting friends. She even has a boyfriend, not that she is allowed to date, but he is nice and he likes her.

Now if only she could do something about this little problem she has. A special gift that has her disappearing and re-appearing in strange places. Like Egypt. What's worse, she has to hide her "gift." Who would believe her anyway?

This was an interesting, complex and realistic YA novel. It has strong female characters who depend on their intelligence, wit and good sense. While Alexis does get into some binds she finds good solutions to problems and takes responsibility for her own actions.

The time travel angle made this book fun to read and has great historical insight into how young women lived in other era's. There are some interesting plot twists which I will leave to the readers to discover.

Well written with strong female characters with good dynamics between them, nicely written dialogue and a good story this is a great novel for both young and older teens alike.
