BACK STABBING

I wasn't going to post anything about this, but it appears things are getting out of control with a certain person. My integrity is being attacked and I don't like it one bit.

A person I helped out is making ludicrous claims about me. I won't mention her name. Some of you know who she is. Slander and lies are not my cup of tea, but she appears to enjoy it. As if this is not bad enough, a number of people who I considered to be friends are falling into line behind her, even going so far as to say my name and purported heinous acts will be mentioned in the Horror Writers Association. What is this, an attempted black-ball for allegations of which I am innocent?

This is sheer stupidity on her part and the part of anyone who believes her. People are entitled to believe whoever and whatever they want. However, if you hitch your wagons to her wagon train, kindly go to Facebook and un-friend me. One back-stabber is enough.

This is short and sweet. I won't address it again unless my hand is forced. My hand, by the way, will not have a knife in it.

  1. I just want to tell you I'm sorry that you are getting the back blow of what happened. This to me isn't between you and her at all, it's between her and the other person. Sending you hugs.

    1. Thank you, DRC. I honestly did not want to have to write the post but I felt I had to say something. I write about monsters. I don't want to be one or have other people think I am.

  4. "...purported heinous acts will be mentioned in the Horror Writers Association" - Blaze, I'm not sure where you got this idea, but the HWA is not in the business of "mentioning...purported heinous acts". Although HWA is a supporter of SFWA's "Writer Beware" project, HWA doesn't even have input into the content found there. We do maintain a Grievance Committee for members' use, but all proceedings of that committee are confidential. - Lisa Morton, HWA Vice President

    1. Lisa, that makes me feel a lot better. Thank you. I knew the HWA wouldn't censure me, but I certainly did not want to be on everyone's "bad boy" list. Sometimes slander is recognized as truth by a few people. I'm glad to have my facts straight on this. Obviously, others don't.

      Thank you, again.

  5. Unfortunately I find myself in an identical situation, which has required the assistance of two very capable attorneys. Let me know if I can be of any help.

    1. Thank you, Alex. I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail, as I wish no one to have to pay for court costs which tend to benefit only the attorneys. My opinion anyway.
