Kenra Daniels is my Woman In Horror today! I guess it makes total sense since Azure Boone and Kenra both write many novels as a team and Azure was my Woman In Horror yesterday. This won't be a rerun of yesterday's post, though, since Kenra writes books on her own as well.
The one book of Kenra's I definitely have to spot light is Safe Heart (Blood Dragon). Why? Have you ever read a book with weredragons and vampires in it together? Add in a weredragon Enforcer, some humans used as food, mainly by the vampires because weredragons tastes are superior to those of vampires. In the minds of the weredragons anyway. An unexpected love develops between the two species which could threaten to undermine the truce between them. This tale rocks with horror, love, humor, and impossible situations made possible because of the deft pen wielded by the skilled author who Kenra is. This is a genre blending tale that I heartily recommend. Personally, besides the hot erotic scenes, I love the weredragons. This novel is a classic!
Below are some words from Kenra on her Facebook page:
"I believe *everyone* eligible to vote owes it to everyone else to vote. I believe every single elected official should have served in the military, federal elected officials should have min. 4yrs active duty. Personal funds shouldn't be used to campaign. We need strict ethics reforms at all levels of govt to rout out corruption/conflicts of interest. Every single adult American who is capable, physically and/or mentally, should serve the nation in some capacity - military, civil service... Lots of other "radical" beliefs and ideas, too."
I don't know about you, but I see gems of wisdom everywhere in these words. I served in 'Nam and knew many pacifists who were also serving there. They did not carry weapons. They were medics and were some of the bravest men I have ever known. These great soldiers fall into what Kenra desribed above. They served, every bit as much as those of us who carried weapons. Their blood was spilled the same as the rest of us. Two thumbs up from me on what Kenra wrote!
Kenra's Amazon bio:
"One half of the Archangels Creed team!! My coauthor, Azure Boone, and I are long time best friends and writing critique partners. Co authoring was a natural progression for us!
I live in rural eastern KY with my very own Romance Novel Hero/Husband. We have one adult daughter, and find ourselves, in our mid-40s, raising her three little boys as she battles physical and mental health issues, as well as addiction. So we're back to diapers and preschool when we were just starting to become accustomed to an empty nest! The only part we'd change is for our daughter to be healthy and more involved, though. The boys are such a joy!
When I'm not riding herd on the boys, or writing, I enjoy cooking, sewing, crafts, gardening, camping, and other things. Horses used to be at the top of that list, but I have health problems that make riding impossible now, and it's still too painful emotionally to be around horses and not able to ride. Maybe someday I can get to the point where I can be near them and not ride, and not feel as if I lost my best friend.
Writing is a lifelong obsession for me instead of recent discovery. The bright side to my chronic illness is that I have enforced periods of limited physical activity, which turns into writing time. I have Fibromyalgia, in addition to an unidentified condition that's causing progressive nerve damage. I take several medications daily, including a narcotic pain reliever to manage the massive pain associated.
Before I became unable to work, I was a Preschool teacher for almost 15 years. Great experience for raising 3 very active little boys :)"
I suggest you visit Kenra on her website http://kenradaniels.com/ . There you will gain much insight into the wonderful person she is. She is quite a spunky lady, a trait I admire much. She does what she must do to handle things that throw themselves in her face in the most ultimate horror of all: real life. I am particularly intrigued by a post here http://archangelscreed.com/balancing-the-universe/ . This back and forth discussion explains how Kenra feels about erotica in her stories. She describes it as being Physical-Emotional-Spiritual. That's all I will say here. The read is fascinating and anyone writing or thinking about writing erotica into their tales should read this.
