Adriana Noir is my Woman In Horror today! I first met Adriana through her gorgeous poetry. Her poems are dark and relay powerful messages. Ah, my friends, Adriana still writes her lovely poetic musings, but now she has added so much more!
Her prose is breathtaking! It is on the edge, thriller and psychological horror at it's best. Her SKALS series is outstanding. Adriana adds a raw, erotic mix to her tales. Be forewarned: this is for adults only. It takes all these wonderful edgy words to a whole new level.
Now we come to a fascinating part of Adriana, the side which drives her to write. She has a compulsion to do so. It is who she is, and she makes no bones about it. She is an in-your-face author. Her website http://www.adriananoir.com/ explains the complexities and fascination of who she is. Her views on writing are much like mine. She writes to please herself, and she totally believes in writing out of the box. Not everyone agrees with her and a lot of people prefer to tell their stories within the mediocrity of established norms. Her norm is to write what she wants to write. Adriana says readers read everything, so whatever comes from the minds of an author will find a home with fans. There is no doubt that the superb words coming from her golden pen have found a home with readers. Simply click onto the books below and see how well her stories rank on the Amazon charts. She is a force to be reckoned with.
My friend Adriana is a no nonsense lady, shooting from the hip, and taking no prisoners in a complex publishing world. She has achieved what I believe to be what she has been trying to do for a while now. Adriana Noir is a Woman In Horror!
Adriana hails from a small town where unpredictable weather and inspiring locals abound. She's an avid fan of dark fiction, alphas, and anti-heroes. When she's not writing, she's usually running from large insects outdoors (aka providing the daily dose of entertainment for the neighborhood) or bonding with her mascot Boo, who's really a savage mountain lion trapped in a domestic cat's body.
She's also been known to stalk after those she suspects might be carrying chocolate. It is, sadly, her one true weakness.

Literary Foray by Chris Bartholomew and Katrina DeLallo (Dec 28, 2010)
The deepening evening sky joins the lake in azure shadows, casting the landscape in monochromatic gloom that can't touch the darkness in my soul. Resting my chin on my knees, I stare unseeing down the length of the pier. The clamor of voices drifts from above where my husband stoically accepts the condolences of family and friends. The pity in their eyes is more than I deserve and too much to bear.-Excerpt from In a Moment's Breath by Mara Mc Bain
