Suzi M is my Woman In Horror today! Last year when I wrote my Woman In Horror post about her, I mentioned she had to stop being so shy about her work. I said she needed to tell the world how good she was. Well, she certainly does that with the words in her stories. But I am pleased to say that she is not just sitting back and accepting the crap that gets foisted on women horror writers. Women write horror tales that are every bit as good as what men write and, in many instances, even better. If you go to http://suzi.typepad.com/weblog/2014/02/on-being-james-glass.html you will see what I mean. Welcome Suzi M, one super talent and feisty woman horror author.

I was wondering how to reconcile my review on Amazon for The Dispossessed which officially came out today. Suzi gave me an opening with her posts. Thank you, young lady. Women need not take any crap from anyone for the genres they chose to write in. It's all about the story and the flow. And, it's about the quality of the book. Suzi M takes a back seat to no one. My review on Amazon does nothing to challenge the mystery of the James Glass persona, but I am glad I can mention it here. This is damned good writing!

and join in on the fun today for the Virtual Release Party for The Dispossessed. I've been bopping in and out as I've been writing this. There are great things going on over there. Perfect day for Suzi to be my Woman In Horror, huh? My review for The Murdered Metatron is highlighted across the top. Wowser! I love that.

Suzi touched on something in her blog posts which I just want to expand on a bit. She feels at ease writing as a man while using the James Glass persona. She says it helps her get into the character more and get rid of the restrictions. I have done the same thing. I wrote Poe's The Black Cat from the perspective of a woman. Quite a challenge, but by getting into the female persona and absorbing the injustices shown to women during that period, I did it and was rather happy with the results. Suzi feels the same way, and she certainly should. However, as with anything else, some women aren't happy she chose to write in this manner. I think this is a wrong way to view what Suzi has done. She has created a masterpiece, and however she put herself in the proper frame of mind is great with me. As I have always said, it is all about the story. And Suzi writes exquisitely.

Take a look at Suzi M's other great books. You will be happy you did. All of them are great. She is a young lady with a huge future ahead of her.

Suzi M is a Woman In Horror!

THE DISPOSSESSED by James Glass
Playing host to the Voice of God can be a strain, and as John Smith is discovering, the source of many hangovers. Add to that a missing demon, and it's one hell of a week.

This review is from: The Dispossessed (The Metatron Mysteries) (Kindle Edition)
When I read James Glass' first tale of the The Murdered Metatron, I was over the top happy with the great read. But The Dispossessed is even better. The same horror, humor and detective work in the first one is back but the author has taken his skills at the craft to an even higher level. A paranormal diner, Angels, Demons, and more have returned. John Smith, private detective, is called upon to solve another supernatural case of missing persons. I need more! The first one was great, The Dispossessed,is a masterpiece, so what will the next tale be? I can only imagine, but I am looking forward to reading it and finding out. While reading this story, it seemed perfectly natural to me that the ensemble of protagonists and antagonists should grace the pages. When one is talking about entities that most don't believe exist, this is quite an accomplishment. I'm writing this in a Starbuck's, but I wish I was sitting in the Limbo Diner watching the majesty unfold before my eyes. Viva la James Glass!

P.S. I received a free promotional copy of this great book, but it is too good to not pay for the privilege of reading this. So I purchased a copy. Had to be done!

The voice of God is dead.....

When John Smith wakes from a coma in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania he remembers nothing of his past except that he might have tried to commit suicide. In an effort to pay the bills he becomes a private detective and is hired by a strange pair of clients who are determined to find out who killed the Voice of God. The clues lead him to the doorstep of the strange and reclusive Virgil Calahan and a hundred year old crime.

The Murdered Metatron is a classic blend of horror, humor, and detective work. While it is relatively short, all the elements of a great page turner are here. I love stories of Angels and Demons and write a lot about them myself, but the author has added an entirely new twist, actually many new twists, as well as winding turns. The reader is taken on a merry ride of adventure. I dare you to figure out the ending to this beauty!

Also, I love great detective tales, mention Mickey Spillane and I go ballistic. Now, I can do the same when James Glass is whispered into my ear.

My advice to you is to set aside enough time to read this great book in one sitting. You'll be hungering for more . . .
