CAROLE GILL - WOMAN IN HORROR!

'If you look back, you fall down.' Carole Gill

http://bloodygoodvampires.blogspot.com/

Carole Gill and Lorelei Bell share a blog on Bloody Good Vampires, and of course, the art decor is red, and lots of it. What else were you expecting?

Carole Gill is certainly a Woman In Horror! No sparkly Vampire tales from her. Her stories are filled with all the blood and gore befitting the moments when the Fanged Ones attack their victims. She writes of many Vampires and many unfortunates who fall prey to them. Her first novel, The House On Blackstone Moor, has been republished and is even better than it was the first time around. Horror abounds at every turn in this tale that includes love - yet, what love can survive within boundaries such as this? The review I have included under the book description just happens to be mine. The name is one of a number I use. I did one of the first reviews on Amazon for Carole and was glad to do it. Carole Gill is my favorite Vampire author!

Unholy Testament - The Beginnings is the sequel. This is a natural progression of the tale and goes into infinite detail about what the minds of those that perhaps would not be our favorite chums are thinking. These are not good things. Novels three and four in the series will be coming soon.

As you scroll down the list of publications that Carole Gill is in, you will notice that a number of them are free. Get your fix of horror and find out more about Carole's writing without breaking the bank. And, of course, once you whet your appetite, you'll want more. Carole's tales are addictive.

Some of her books delve into sci-fi writing. I happen to love science fiction and Carole writes it so well. Having read her tales in this genre, I would have to say that her approach is refreshing after reading a lot of the pap that is bandied about. Her tales have a "maybe this could happen" feel to them, no matter what road they follow. Tres cool.

For over the top vampire horror, written in a dark, Gothic manner, Carole Gill is your woman!

Included in this book are the first two chapters of Book 2, Unholy Testament - The Beginnings
                                                                   ****
"They say my father was mad, so corrupted by evil and tainted by sin that he did what he did. I came home to find them all dead; their throats savagely cut. My sisters only five and eight were gone as well as my brother who was twelve. My mother too lay butchered in her marriage bed. The bed her children were born in..."Young Rose Baines discovers the savage murders of her family by her mad, incestuous father.

She is plunged into a nightmare of hell and is incarcerated in two madhouses after which she is helped to obtain a position as governess at Blackstone House.

The house is located on haunted moorland. Nothing is as it seems for Blackstone House and its inhabitants have hideous secrets. There is unimaginable horror there but there is love too--love that comes at a terrible price.

The story is as haunting as it is terrifying and will remain with the reader long after its disturbing tale has been told.

This review is from: The House on Blackstone Moor (The Blackstone Vampires) (Kindle Edition)
Okay: I love novels of this kind, so I would pretty much be happy with most well written stories in this genre. But this great book goes well beyond just making me happy.

The sheer magnificence of the Gothic scenes and language; the characters playing off each other, every one bidding for his or her time to shine; the blending of the physical with the psyche; and the age old battle between good and evil, but with a whole new twist added to the evil, makes this a must read, don't put it down masterpiece.

Clive Barker has some real competition now. Carole Gill has arrived. "The House On Blackstone Moor" will surely become a classic.

Included in this book are the first two chapters and book cover of  Book 3, Unholy Testament - Full Circle.
                                                                          ****
The day Eco first laid eyes on Rose Baines was the day she discovered (The House on Blackstone Moor) her family's savage butchery at the hands of her mad, incestuous father.

"I saw you leave the house that day, Rose, that terrible day you discovered your family butchered. I saw you..."

Eco realizing he has fallen in love with her pens a confession documenting all of his sins committed in the course of his immortal existence. The one request is that Rose reads his confession.

Rose, having become his captive, is forced to read this unholy testament of his.

From Ancient Egyptian vampire cults to Roman vampire brothels to The Dark Ages, The Crusades, The Black Death of 1348 to his meeting with child murderer and Satanist, Gilles de Rais, concluding with his wicked affair with the Blood Countess herself, Erzebat Bathory.

Eco is, if nothing else, frankly and brutally honest. The pages are filled with debauchery and vice and murder--yet, there is also love or what Eco swears is love.

The story is continued in Unholy Testament - Full Circle, to be released in early 2013.

Carole Gill's Amazon Author page bio:

I've always written but life, as it often does, got in the way and I turned back to writing some years ago.
In 2000 I was selected by North West Playwrights of England for further development but found I preferred writing fiction (novels and short stories).
I write stories of the paranormal, horror, and love. I'm the creator of Louis Darton, a strong vampire with a dark, tortured past. Come journey with me as I help Louis find love and fight his ultimate nemesis, the evil, demonic Eco.
Louis is featured in my dark gothic romance novel, The House on Blackstone Moor which has just been released in its newly edited verison and is on sale here.
The House on Blackstone Moor is literary style horror at its darkest. The themes are madness, obsession and devil worship.
It is recommended for readers 18 years of age and over.
There are three more novels in The Blackstone Vampires Series.
Unholy Testament - The Beginnings is on sale here.
Unholy Testament - Full Circle, release early 2013
the fourth and last book in the series, release in 2013
Dreams of a Vampire is the short story prequel to the novel. It includes the first fourteen chapters of The House on Blackstone Moor and is free at Amazon.

  6. Carole Gill is amazing, I am a huge fan. Her vampire stories are fabulous. Truly a gifted horror author, Carole spins a tale as though she’s lived the scene herself. It’s like she is sharing a piece of herself, a piece of her world, with those fortunate enough to read her books.
