We are hosting a number of contests and giveaways over at DarkMedia City for Halloween, and this Friday starts our Halloween Short Fiction & Poetry Contest. For over a year and a half our founding members, Wendy Howard, Blaze McRob and Sue Mydliak have hosted Friday Frights, a weekly literary event for members of DarkMedia City.
"Writers contribute stories every Friday based on a weekly prompt. Readers enjoy the stories and vote for their favorites. Readers' choices published the following month in Dark Media Online Magazine."
Let your creative side come out and write a short fiction piece or poem with a Halloween theme. Post it in the Friday Frights group and you're entered to win a gift card and publication in our first Halloween anthology. Below are all the details to enter.
Entry Guidelines: Please follow these guidelines for your short fiction and poems.
- Entries may be short stories or poems.
- Stories and poems must be of a Halloween theme.
- Acceptable length for short fiction between 1000 and 3000 words. 500 words acceptable for poems.
- Stories must be posted in the Friday Frights group between October 1st through October 31st and preferably on Fridays.
Prizes: Between 10-15 entries will be chosen for our first Halloween anthology. Winners will receive a $10 gift certificate to the bookstore of their choice as payment for their stories.
We hope you'll join us and if you have any questions, contact us or post your question in the Friday Frights group.
Check this out, folks!
Blaze
