D. R. Cartwright writes great horror and does some wonderful doodles. Her great book Son Of Jack is on Amazon. If you like Jack the Ripper like tales, this is your cup of tea. I stole this bio from her site:

I am, at present, a 31 year old woman, with a husband and a big fat fluffy Persian cat with a face so flat it looks like she's run face first into a wall (bless her little cotton socks). I have a love for music - anything from classical to heavy metal - a love for films, a love of books, a love of art - and a love for writing.

Professionally I work for an internet retail company, working in marketing, copywriting and designing. Unprofessionally I'm a writer and an artist (you can check out some of my doodles on the 'Doodles of a writer' page)

I've considered myself a writer since the age of ten (thereabouts) when I wrote my first fantasy novel. It was 76 pages long and fully illustrated. And when that was completed I moved on to the next. I now have 15 novels written - ranging from horror, thriller and fantasy - and many more short horror stories. However, it hasn't been until recent years and since joining the North Herts Writers' Circle (NHWC) that I feel my style has improved. I now have a new found confidence in my work, have a thriller, 'Son of Jack', published on Amazon, and will be continuing the hunt for a publishing agent for my fantasy series. Watch this space to see if I'm successful or not . . .

In the meantime, enjoy my blog. The intitial idea was to create a place where I could publish the random pieces of flash fiction written as exercises for our writers' circle, but it's evolved since then. Now you also get to read some of my thoughts and discoveries in the world of writing - and the world of fantasy art with 'Pic of the Week!'. I hope that some of the posts prove useful and interesting to other aspiring writers.

Happy following . . .

Promo for Son Of Jack:

In a society shadowed by the fear of a dark serial killer - a man whose horrific similarities mirror those of Jack the Ripper, and a man society can only refer to as 'Son of Jack' - four strangers live with the same fear yet find themselves affected in very different ways, taking them down their own dark path of self-destruction . . . and murder.

A great review from Amazon:

This review is from: Son of Jack (Kindle Edition)
There are four characters, whose stories are told side by side. Could one of them be the 'Son of Jack'.

As odd as I think it sounds when reviewing a gruesome/chilling book like this, I did enjoy it. The author knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you turning the apge, wanting to know more.

The climaxes of the four stories are at turns heart-rending, chilling and frightening for all four characters.

If you like thrillers, you'll like this one.

The other reviews on Amazon are also Five Stars.

Visit DRC(as she prefers to be called)on her site and read her tales. You won't be sorry. check out the wonderful art she shares there also. You'll love it. D.R. Cartwright is a Woman in Horror!
