Lawrence Fisher

Okay. This is a horror blog and Lawrence Fisher does not write about horror. Maybe, maybe not. In "Kill Me Now!", he dies a thousand deaths at the hands of the enemy: any woman he attempts to date. Now, Lawrence is not exactly faultless, but he is definitely on the receiving end of some pretty nasty treatment.

To date or not to date: that is the question. Lawrence gets slapped down and comes back for more, always looking for "the one." A lesser man would give up. Not our intrepid hero. Hey, the man likes Monty Python: that says reams about his search for the feminine Holy Grail.

Every conceivable dating trick known to man is employed by Lawrence, and a few new ones as well. Somehow, one day, he will find "the one." Or not.

I love the fact that people are people no matter where they live or what beliefs they harbor, and Lawrence shows us this to the max.

For a light-hearted journey through dating, Blaze says, "READ THIS BOOK"!

Book Description

October 18, 2011
Kill Me Now! is about Lawrence, a man in his late 40s dodging bullets deep in the dating battlefield while searching for THE ONE.

In Kill Me Now! Lawrence tries to decode the signals of his enigmatic opponent, often resulting in his hasty retreat. Why is she resting her head on her hand? Is she bored? Or is she interested? He finds himself in many humorous situations where he has no idea what he is doing and no idea how to maneuver through the skirmish.

Trapped in the epicenter of the courting conflict, the motivating thought that sustains him is his strong belief that somewhere out there, she awaits.

Join Lawrence as he painfully stumbles through the mating minefield in search for his SOULMATE while silently wishing that he was elsewhere.

"Kill Me Now! is a riot... It is original." iUniverse advance review.

4.0 out of 5 stars A descent into dating hell- laughing all the way, December 12, 2011

Have you ever been caught in dating hell, using "singles groups" matchmakers and even blind dates? Well, then you'd also find this book both funny and kinda painful at the same time. I was briefly in the authors shoes myself, and I have some funny tales to recount from my forays (and no doubt a few of my dates remember me likewise).

Our new author is a single man in his 40's, possibly one of the worst times in your life to be going for a new relationship. Yet he perseveres on in the face of constant failure, buoyed up by some glimmers of hope and a cheerful personality.

His humor is self-depreciating and his stories are all too believable. Mind you, clearly this is his first book, his writing style is a little rough at times.

But for those that have been there, it can be a compelling read- of course some times the compelling force is what makes us not able to take out eyes away from a train wreck.

I got some serious chuckles and not a few winces.

I rcvd a copy for review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Full of loads of laughs!, November 17, 2011
Welcome to the crazed, tongue-in-cheek world of one lonely man, his mind constantly set ablaze by the utter confusion that his battlefield adversary, the enigma known as "woman", constantly launches at him as he schlepps through the dangerously deceiving landscape commonly known as "dating."

Parts of this book had me rolling with laughter at some of the more outrageous, precarious predicaments he finds himself in as he attempts every single known dating strategy, including having friends set him up, online dating and even procuring the services of a matchmaker. These overly exaggerated battles with his wily feminine opponents leave him dazed, bleeding and down for the count, yet somehow, through the magic of sheer determination, he stands stoically back up, ready to face the next combat zone.

Cleverly written and full of over-the-top scenarios that you can't help but laugh at, this caustic book gives you a deeply sarcastic peek "behind the stoic curtain" most men wear as the author/main character attempts to find THE ONE.

Thank goodness this peek behind the scenes is all in good natured humor, because guess what ladies? If it were true, then it's just as we have suspected all along: men are pigs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kill Me Know - A MUST READ !!!, November 22, 2011
This review is from: Kill Me Now!: A Middle Aged Man's Maneuvers Through the Frontline of the Dating Battlefield (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lawrence Fisher's `Kill me Know' and found it hilarious and inspiring - the author doesn't give up on finding his ONE.

It has wonderful, full of humor, over-the-top scenarios that are at once entertaining and funny -had quite a few laughs.

All singles out there can relate to some of the delightful stories, trials and basically realistic experiences Lawrence goes through in his search for love.

This is a MUST read :)
